Bachelor of Arts (B.A) Hons. in Psychology

Eligibility Criteria

  1. The candidate should have passed 10+2 in any stream with minimum50% marks.
  2. The candidate’s birth should not have been earlier than 1.07.1999

Educational Objectives

The educational objective of the course is to provide students with a strong foundation in the discipline of psychology. Along with core papers, discipline specific papers familiarize students with both theoretical and application based aspects of the discipline of psychology. The program follows an eclectic pedagogy comprising of lectures, practicum, classroom discussions and presentations. All these are designed with the aim of developing critical thinking in students.

Program Outcomes

The program focuses on developing in students an understanding of the theoretical concepts of psychology. Alongside there is also a focus on developing certain skills which will enable students to pursue higher education or/and work in clinical or social settings.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Objectives

The educational objective of the course is to provide students theoretical and empirical knowledge in the domain of Sociology. The course design includes core papers, discipline specific specializations, and open electives. Outmost importance is given towards the enhancement 0f professional skills.  Teaching philosophy of this programme demonstrates a fine blend of intense academic churning and student friendliness. It comprising of lectures, fieldwork, classroom discussions and presentations. Complete design of this programme aims, not only to provide fundamental knowledge in the domain of sociology but also accelerate their critical thinking.

The program focuses on developing theoretical and practical knowledge among the students in the subject of sociology. This will be effective in shaping students further academic and other professional career.

Bachelor of Arts (B.A) Hons. in Economics

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Pass in 10+2 in any stream with at least 50% marks and having Mathematics / Business Mathematics & Statistics as one of the subjects in 10+2 level.
  • Should have born on or after 01.07.1999.

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

The programme’s teaching methodology and approach are designed to leverage technology and maximize interaction seamlessly and simultaneously. The programme follows a pedagogy that is a blend of Lectures, Case Studies, Lecture-discussions, Behavioural and Computer-based Simulations, Projects, Assignments, Class Presentations, Quizzes etc.

Program Outcomes (POs)

The focus being to prepare students’ as future-ready i.e., to become entrepreneurs, economic analysts or junior level executives in the private and public sector industries or pursue higher education, by equipping students with a holistic view of the economic environment and its operations. The thrust of the programme is on personality development of the students by helping them acquire conceptual, analytical, problem-solving capabilities and emotional maturity. The innovative curriculum and proven pedagogy will equip participants with actionable knowledge and skills along with deep insights into leadership and strategy.

Master of Commerce (M.Com) Dual Specialisation

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Economics or Science having basic skills in Commerce from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

The MA Commerce programme of KIIT, Deemed University, is a two years’ Masters’ programme in Commerce. With a curriculum design that reflects the best and updated Commerce papers and practice, and the objective of the programme is to impart Economics education with an employability outlook. Educational Objectives

The Master of Arts in sociology programme aims to train students to critically analyze the social milieu in which they live and become cognizant and responsible citizens. The course structure is a fusion of theoretical underpinning and empirical assessment. In order to build up research orientation among students for which the field work is given importance. This will provide them ample of opportunity to locate the dynamic aspects of social phenomenon under the lens of existing sociological theories.  Apart that, advance research methodology course is being introduced which will help them to undertake research in the contemporary social issues and policies.

It also provides many specialized, elective, and core papers, where students get a scope to understand diverse specialized knowledge on subjects. The program applies a diverse pedagogy pattern to impart knowledge on the concerned subjects i.e. lecture, tutorial and practical, field work, discussion, and presentations. All these methods are applied in two years of MA course to enable students to develop critical thinking and mastery in various professional careers in their life.

Program Outcomes

This two-year MA program intended to provide comprehensive knowledge in the subject of Sociology, at the same time, it also provides a platform to gain knowledge in other social science.  Innovative and effective classroom communication through tutorial and filed based practical knowledge will enhance their participation in formulation of policies and contribution towards the creation of knowledge. Overall, students will get comprehensive knowledge on crucial concepts and issues in sociology and society at large. The most important part of this two-year program is to make students more efficient in critical thinking, logical bend of mind to formulate rational arguments that will provide them an upper edge to establish in many professional careers they want to achieve.
