WEEKLY SEMINARS (2019-2020)

It’s been an honor to convey that School of Commerce and Economics, KIIT DU (KSCE) never lags behind in taking initiatives and efforts in the journey of keeping its students updated and market fit. KSCE in its initial year itself, for the above discussed purpose, had a practice of conducting weekly seminars on various relevant topics, for both M.Com.& B.Com. programme students. With the support of all other faculties of the department, Mr. Himanshu Agarwall, Seminar Coordinator, guides the students in selecting and preparing on a topic and organizing the seminars. It is mandatory for students to attend and participate in the seminars. Resource persons of eminence in the field are invited to grace the seminar and provide their valuable inputs for the successful achievement of the objective behind conducting seminars. All the students are required to submit a written report about the seminar and on the topic after every seminar to assess their understanding from the seminar. The practice of having regular seminars, besides expanding the knowledge base, also have their other own advantages like teamwork, improved communication and presentation skills, enhanced group discussion skills, removal of stage fear, boosting the morale of students etc.

JIGYASA 2k19

Freshers Day celebration in a department, to welcome the newly admitted batch of student in a friendly atmosphere, encourage their creative impulses, and boost their confidence, is a regular feature of the schools.

School of Commerce & Economics, KIIT not only focuses on the simple teaching-learning process, but also creates a joyful family like environment to keep its members motivated and enthusiastic. In spite of being a new department with its first batch of students, KSCE didn’t keep its kids deprived of the freshers’ party excitement, joy, enthusiasm, laughter and happiness. The fresher’s day, “JIGYASA 2k19” was organized by the department for its students. The event started with the KIIT Anthem sung by the students of M.Com.& B.Com. namely, Nandini Mohanty & Tejaswee Tripathy. A formal welcome and introduction of guest was done by Mr. Himanshu Agarwall, Assistant Professor, KSCE. It was followed by address to the students by Prof. Jayanta Kumar Parida, Director; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro Vice Chancellor, KIIT; Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT. The lovely KIITians were then welcomed, interacted, and motivated by the Honorable founder of KIIT & KISS, Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta sir.
